Our Establishment

Hong Kong Clinical Research Ethics Committee (“HKCREC”) is an independent clinical research ethics committee established for overseeing research involving human subjects and is open to any investigator or medical institution, provided that an investigator/institution agrees to comply with HKCREC’s requirements.

Our Mission

The mission of HKCREC is protecting the rights, safety and well-being of human subjects with respect to their participation in clinical studies through initial review and continuous oversight of such clinical studies from the ethical and scientific perspectives.

Our Scope of Activities

HKCREC is open to any investigator or medical institution. Subject to the conditions of this SOP, HKCREC undertakes to perform ethics and scientific review and oversight of clinical studies undertaken by investigators or medical institutions that commit to comply with the requirements of HKCREC in writing.

HKCREC is continue to strive for excellence in the challenging global clinical trial environment and contribute to advancement of human healthcare through the collaborations with various Academic Research Institutions, Public Bodies and Trial Sponsors worldwide.
